In accordance with the Ministerial Decree no. 2016/9154, dated 07/09/2016, issued in the Official Gazette no. 92825, dated 08/09/2016, it is decided to continue “Daylight Saving Time” all year long. The same Decree also repeals the previous decision to turn the clocks an hour back on October 30, 2016 stated in the Ministerial Decree no. 2016/8589, dated 14/03/2016.
As it is stated on the Exchange’s circular no. 433, contract sizes of Electricity Futures contracts are determined by the formula of (number of hours in the contract month x 0.1 MWh) and thus, “Daylight Saving Time” effects contract sizes.
As a result, effective from September 9, 2016, contract sizes of Electricity Futures with expiry months of October 2016, March 2017 and October 2017, will be 74.4 MWh, which have been 74.5 MWh, 74.3 MWh and 74.5 MWh, respectively.
